Merger Announcement Rock Steady Group of Companies and FPC Security Limited

The Directors of the Rock Steady Group of Companies in conjunction with the Directors of FPC Security Limited are pleased to announce that both companies completed their merger on Friday 29th October 2004.

Rock Steady has been a market leader in providing event safety, security and crowd management services domestically and internationally for over 24 years. The combined Group employs over 1800 people throughout the UK.

FPC employs over 250 people and for the past 15 years has developed a reputation for delivering a high standard of service to a wide range of events and venues, with particular successes within the film and television production industry.

The new combined business will operate under the world renowned brand name of Rock Steady.

The merger has resulted from our joint aim to:

• raise standards of service for our customers
• build on the combined 39 years success of both companies
• provide greater opportunities and enhanced conditions for our employees

There is an increased demand for better trained and motivated staff within the security and event industry, levels of accountability have continued to rise over the last decade and implications have arisen from the Private Security Industry Act 2001 that are now affecting those tasked with delivering a front line security service. The regulations are currently only applicable to England and Wales but will be legislated in Scotland in the near future. The combined business will put us in a much stronger position to accommodate the demands resulting from a licensed security industry.

We operate in a rapidly changing service industry environment. The Directors of Rock Steady and FPC therefore decided that the time had arrived to pool our expertise and resources and by doing so would help us meet the longer term requirements of our clients by providing the professional and efficient service both they and their customers expect.
